Durga temple FD rise to Rs 250 cr
Vijayawada: Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri fixed deposits (FD) increased to Rs 250.29 crore. The temple authorities deposited Rs 30.52 crore in 2021-22, Rs 66.43 crore in 2022-23 and deposited Rs 5.71 up to July 2023 in recognised banks.
Up to 2020-21, the temple fixed deposits were Rs 149.63 crore. For the past three years, the authorities deposited Rs 100.66 crore in the banks. Out of Rs 250 crore deposits, Rs 57.43 crore will be reserved for employees’ pension fund, Rs 2.73 crore for making the gold crown, Rs 11.26 crore for Saswatha Pujas, and Rs 49 lakh will be reserved for Vedic school.
Barring these allocations, presently the temple has Rs 177.07 crore as a reserve fund. Besides, the temple Annadanam Trust amount (deposits) also rose to 96.54 crore. For the past three years, around Rs 25 crore was deposited in the banks under the Annadanam scheme.
