Water supplied once in 10 days for 10 mts

Patancheru: Following depletion of the groundwater levels, both workers and residents in the Bollaram industrial area are facing severe drinking water shortage. The residents, sharing their hardships with The Hans India, expressed anxiety in securing water.

They said the problem of shortage was persisting despite pleas to local leaders of gram panchayat. "There is none before whom we can pour out our woes."

In anguish, they said the issue seems to be ever ending despite informing all the officials concerned. They alleged that some local leaders and representative of a trust were securing water for themselves and blocking the supply to the residents.

According to the residents, water is being made available once in 10 days and that too only for 10 minutes, which is sufficient for just a day. On other days, they are forced to purchase water at a high cost, they said, pleading that the government take immediate steps to solve the water shortage problem at the earliest.
