Universities suffer as Vice Chancellor posts lie vacant

OU: All India Students' Federation (AISF) activists on Monday staged a protest in front of Arts College demanding that the State government appoint Vice-Chancellors to all the universities in the State. Expressing ire over delay in appointing V-Cs, students burnt an effigy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, AISF leaders Hari Krishna and Sathya said that delay in appointment of VCs had impacted university administration. The students, teachers and university employees were facing problems, they said.

They also demanded filling up of vacant teaching and non-teaching posts and form administrative council. AISF leaders demanded the government to provide free mess, and grant fellowships to every PhD and PG student studying in universities. AISF activists Sumeer, Madhu, Sandeep, Shekhar, Bhairi, Jimmi, Surya and others participated in the protest.
