Two arrested for smuggling ganja

Patancheru: The Excise Enforcement officials on Sunday seized 30 ganja packets while they were being illegally transported by an alleged gang from Narsingi to Narayankhed in a car.

According to CI Mohan Kumar, the officials acted on information that Rathod Raj of Gadigi village in Kamareddy district and Bhanoth Dara Singh of Chandranaik Thanda in Sangareddy district were transporting the banned item.

He told The Hans India that the duo was caught during vehicle checking close to the service road of Muthangi Outer Ring Road. The 30 packets of ganja, weighing 500 gm each, was worth Rs.1.5 lakh. The duo was arrested and sent for remand. Among those who participated in the seizure were SI Vishwanath, Head Constables Azam, Aleem, constables Chinna Goud and Karim.
