Former Governor of Tamil Nadu K Rosaiah participated in the event.
Addressing the gathering, K Rosaiah said, "It's an honour to represent the people of my age group. My self-confidence has been boosted after seeing the energy of the people over here." Furthermore, he added, "If any senior citizen falls sick, he can't even get proper medical treatment which is a basic thing. Government should take steps to protect our senior citizens."
Speaking on the occasion, founder of Elders Club International Foundation Krishna Reddy said, "Today, the elders are being abused in many ways. There are many problems that the elders are facing in their daily life. They are not even allowed to watch TV programmes. This is not the way to treat elders." He further added, "There are acts regarding this but they are not getting implemented in reality."
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Chandrayya said, "We are living in a society where a person became enemy to another person. UNO after conducting a survey in 2011, declared that if it continues we will live in violence than living in peace."
Anvayaa Director Prashanth Reddy said that ill-treating elders is an abuse and a sin. It is our privilege to associate with this eventful occasion as it perfectly fits in to our values and mission of supporting the elderly population with their health requirements.
