Telangana Working Journalists Federation leaders call on journo hurt in attack

LB Nagar: Telangana Working Journalists' Federation (TWJF) leaders consoled Durgaiah, Nava Telangana reporter who was attacked by unknown miscreants, here at his residence on Monday.

State president of TWJF Mamidi Somaiah, general secretary B Basava Punnaiah, vice presidents P Anandam and Pilli Ramchander, treasurer R Venkateshwarulu and others called on the journalist at his residence in Mansoorabad and enquired him about the attack. Durgaiah said that he was attacked by unknown persons while returning from duty. He said two persons beat him indiscriminately and he was seriously injured.

Later, the federation leader went to LB Nagar police station and spoke to ACP Pruthvidhar Rao about the attack and urged him to find the culprits and arrest them at the earliest. ACP said that a case was filed against attackers and promised to arrest them at the earliest. Among those who called on the scribe include journalists Vasu, Niranjan, Satyam, Samba and others.
