Science fair begins at Kendriya Vidyalaya-1, Uppal
Uppal: Regional-level competitions under the aegis of National Children's Science Congress are being conducted at Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 at Uppal for two days. The programme was inaugurated on Thursday by J S V Lakshmi, Assistant Commissioner of KVS, Hyderabad region.
In his welcome address, P S Raju, the principal of school, stressed on the importance of inculcating scientific temper among students. He said participation by students in NCSC would sow the seeds of scientific outlook in students and help them become great scientists in future. J S V Lakshmi conveyed her best wishes to all the participants and informed that the winners of regional-level competitions would be eligible to take part at the national level.
Around 350 students from 55 KVs of AP and Telangana are participating in the event. The students are going to present their projects based on the survey conducted by them on different topics. Scientists from CCMB, IICT and GSI are being invited to judge the projects. Nishikant Agarwal, Principal, KV-2, NSB, is the academic coordinator for this event.
