Musheerabad: Noted educationist Chukka Ramaiah said that Communists should come together under one platform in the present situation. He was speaking at preparatory meeting for AIFTU Telangana state convention meetings to be held on July 11, here at Omkar Bhavan on Friday.

Speaking at the meeting, Chukka Ramaiah said that the people of Telangana fought for the separate state with several expectation of better lives, but the present government has shattered all the hopes. People have dreamed of revival sick industries, better employment opportunities and regularisation of contract employees but their dreams have remained unfulfilled, he lamented.

He expressed his concern over the government's proposal of closing several government schools, which would result in loss of employment for several teachers. Expressing his fears of suppression of labour, he said that recent labour law passed by the central law has removed 44 labour laws and feared that this may infringe labour rights. He appealed various communist parties in the country to come together under a platform to fight for the protection of labour rights.

An invitation association was formed as part of preparations for AIFTU state convention, with Chukka Ramaiah as its chairman, Katta Bhavanth Reddy as honorary president, Jeevan Kumar as its presidents and other representatives of people's associations as its members.

Prominent among those who participated in the program include president of Telangana Praja Front Vimalakka, Vempati Kumar, Mallesh, Nageshwar Rao, Syed Bilal, Gaddam Lakshman, A Nagaraju, Arunodaya leaders Mohan Bairagi, Prabhakar, Beedi workers association president Bhulakshmi and others.
