Police chief invited for Civil Rights Day fete

Saifabad: A team of members of SC, ST Commission led by its chairman Dr Errolla Srinivas met DGP Mahender Reddy to invite him to participate in Civil Rights Day celebrations to be held on October 30.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Srinivas said that DGP had responded positively to their request. MLAs, public representatives and officials were being invited to 'Civil Rights Day' programme that was conducted on 30th of every month to raise awareness on civil rights in the society, he said.

Dr Srinivas said that they also met chief secretary to invite him to participate in the programme. In the past, the day was observed only occasionally but after the formation of the commission, it was being held every month, he said.

Commission members Rambal Naik, Sunkapaka Devaiah, Boilla Vidyasagar, Pendur Neela Devi and others were among those who called on DGP.
