People raise a stink over drainage water logging
Indira Nagar: The residents of Indira Nagar have been facing severe trouble and inconvenience due to overflowing of drainage water on to the road and water logging since several days.
Mushraf Ali, a resident, said, "Due to continuous flow of water, the roads are getting damaged too." With no proper road, the drain water is not flowing down to the nala. The water is getting stagnated on the streets for days. This is not for the first time. The issue of water logging has been troubling us since 2 years, say residents.
"Water stagnation has become a major issue here, as we face a lot of difficulties while commuting. The stagnant water has turned dark green and has become a breeding place for mosquitoes, giving sleepless nights to all of us." said Rama Devi, a resident of Indira Nagar.
Add to it, some unidentified people are dumping domestic waste in the drain water. "Seeing the condition of the road and drainage overflow, one can understand the hardships we are facing. We request the GHMC officials concerned to respond immediately and solve the issue as soon as possible taking it as a high priority," says Rakesh, a local resident of Indira Nagar.
