People exhorted to plant trees zealously

West Marredpally: Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Sunday called upon people to take up tree plantation compulsorily, thus becoming partners in protecting the environment. He was speaking at his residence here after releasing T-shirts, appealing to people to plants saplings brought out by Makthal Foundation. On the occasion, he distributed saplings to some persons.

The Minister revealed that the State government was planting crores of saplings every year during the Haritha Haram programme. He urged NGOs to hold public awareness programmes on widespread tree plantation for protecting the environment. Makthal foundation chairman Jalandhar Goud, Athili Srinivas Goud were among those present.
