Nampally: Strongly criticising the decision of TS Wakf Board for allotting the Wakf land for development of Minorities Residential Schools, AIMIM (All India Majlis Inquilab-e-Millat) demanded that the Wakf Board reverse its resolution in the upcoming meeting, scheduled to be held on Thursday.

Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, party general secretary and All India Sunni Ulama Board, president, Syed Hamed Hussain Shuttari emphasised that this was deviation and against Mansha-e-Wakf (purpose of endowment). He said that the government cannot allot 150 acre of Wakf land for schools, as it would go against the several provisions of the Wakf Act.

It may be mentioned here that as part of infrastructure development, the Central government under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram would be funding the projects in fields of education, health & skill development for minorities. For fulfilling the criteria, Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) had requested for allotment of land from TSWB, for the construction of Minority Residential Schools.

As the government lands are not available in districts like Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy, the Talangana State Wakf Board allotted around 150 acres of wakf land on lease.

These include 50 acres and 16 acres of land in different survey numbers in Mamidipally, Saroornagar Mandal in RR district, 35 acres of wakf land in Koheda village, Hayathnagar Mandal, 10 acre of land opposite of GMR Aerospace in RR District, 12 acres of land in Kalvakuntla village Sangareddy Mandal, 14 acres and 2 guntas in different survey numbers in Sangareddy district.
