Musi River Front Development Corporation Limited begins clearing of garbage at Musi

Afzalgunj: The Musi River Front Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) on Monday informed that they started removal of garbage in Musi, starting from Muslimjung bridge to Salarjung bridge.

In a official tweet, K Ashok Reddy, MD, MRDCL informed that the works were started, as part of 'action plan' suggested by Chief Justice of High Court & Executive Chairman, Telangana State Legal Services Authority, which recently asked the officials to prevent pollution in the river following a high-level meeting.

It may be mentioned here that on April 1, Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration & Urban Development) Arvind Kumar conducted inspection of Musi river as part development and prevention of pollution. Covering the stretch between Puranapul to Imliban, he observed that there was heaps of garbage, debris material which was being dumped into the Musi River bed from the abutting roads.

The Principal Secretary instructed the concerned officials to clear garbage at the earliest and also streamline the water flow to utilize the Trunk Sewer and I&D (Interception & Diversion) structures to maximum designed capacity with effective maintenance. He also instructed the officials to take up the cleaning of the river course, existing Walkways, Lighting, illumination of the Muslimjung Pul.
