Motorists fume as drainage overflows

Moula Ali: The residents of Moula Ali are facing severe inconvenience due to drainage overflowing in the colony. With sewage water overflowing at a narrow bend, near a pedestrian-crossing, many motorists have had a tough time on the slippery stretch, despite driving slowly

Ram, a resident of the area, said, "At night, due to poor lighting condition, neither the slippery stretch nor pedestrian movement is visible. In addition, the road witnesses' heavy traffic in the area whenever sewage overflows onto the road."

It was told by the authorities that steps would be taken to desist the drain, prevent dumping of garbage and to arrest discharge of sewage into the drains when complained on this Issue.

Though there have been several complaints to the GHMC officials regarding drainage overflow, no has turned to resolve the problem. Due to drainage overflowing onto the road residents and motorists have been breathing the foul smell.

The road dotted with residential colonies are also troubled by the insects and foul smells. Whenever the issue is taken up, the action of municipal authorities and elected representatives has been confined to promises only.
