MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao assures funds for ending civic woes

Kukatpally: Residents of Boinpally on Thursday submitted representations to local MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao on their problems at the first division-level review meeting attended by officials of all departments, representatives of the associations, women's organisations.

The representations concerned inundation of low-lying areas during monsoons, overflowing drainage owing to non-desiltation of nalas, laying water pipelines in some colonies, building of roads, installation of streetlights, provision of RTC bus services from HAL Colony to kukatpally, fixing traffic signals at M M R Garden and development of grave yards,besides community halls.

Addressing the people, the MLA stated that already the division had been developed in many aspects. He said funds would be provided for roads, drainage, water pipelines. The work to divert the drainage pipeline to the Hasmathpet water body to prevent its flow has been going on, he said, adding that henceforth the residents would not have mosquito menace.

Rao assured the officials that funds for drainage, roads, water pipelines in colonies would be released on the basis of plans to be submitted to him by them. He said the water problem would be solved once the Kaleshwaram project was completed and linked to the Alwal reservoir.

The MLA promised to increase strength of sanitation staff, while urging residents of colonies to keep their surroundings clean through 'shramdan'. Rao said soon the programme to distribute pensions to those above 57 years would be taken up. All eligible poor families would be allotted 2 BHK houses. Those owning 70 sq yard sites need not take building permissions.

Regarding GO 59, he assured to secure permissions at the meeting on Saturday with the minister concerned and the Collector. Rao told the officials that agreements with contractors who stop works should be terminated and new contractors allotted the works. He said the issue of making funds available to the constituency was discussed with minister K Tarakarama Rao prior to the Thursday's meeting.

Among those present at the meeting were Corporator Muddam Narsimha Yadav, Market Committee Chairman Narendra Goud, party activists Ezaz, Irfan, M Narsing Rao, Lalita, Udayrani and Mahipal Reddy.
