MLA Arekapudi Gandhi launches Manjira pipeline works

Serilingampally: Local MLA Arekapudi Gandhi on Monday launched Manjira pipeline works in Chandanagar division, which are estimated to cost Rs 40 lakh. He was accompanied by HMWSSB Deputy general manager Nagapriya and manager Subramanyam and corporator Navatha Reddy.

The MLA stated that the TRS government was striving to ensure that the Mission Bhagiratha would supply water to every house in the Serilingampally constituency. The new pipeline would provide a permanent solution to drinking water problem. He said the new pipeline was being laid after the old one was found to be contaminating the supply. It would henceforth ensure supply of pure drinking water to every house.

He said already 95% of the pipeline works in Chandanagar were completed in the recent past. About 25 km of pipleline works in the constituency had already been completed. The pipeline works would cover 100 colonies to solve the water supply problems. The requirement of 50-km pipeline would be taken to the notice of Minister K Tarakarama Rao, he assured.

He advised the board officials to take the pipeline work on priority where required. The MLA stated that as per the new scheme the upper level APL Colony residents would have to bear 50 per cent of the cost if they require new pipeline and the balance would be met by the government. He urged the residents to avail themselves of the opportunity.

Among those present on the occasion were former councilor Sunita Reddy, TRS division president Reddy Raghunath Reddy, party leaders Uppalapati Srikanth, Uriti Venkat Rao, Raju Yadav, Erragudla Srinivas Yadav, Prasad, Lakshma Reddy, Gopi, Raju, Akbar Khan, Srikanth, Anant Reddy, Dasu and Srilata.
