Medha Patkar pats child for anti-drugs campaign

Somajiguda: Noted social activist Medha Patkar congratulated Tania Begum, a child who has been serving as junior head of drug-free world campaign, during an awareness programme for drug-free world held here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that the child who had been campaigning for drug-free world was worth emulating by the present generation. Many youths, who need to play a key role in nation-building, had been destroying their lives by taking to drugs and wasting their lives, she lamented.

Governments and citizens should come forward voluntarily to eliminate this menace, she said and urged youth to conduct awareness programmes to wean the addicted away from drugs.
