Manda Krishna demands settlement of RTC issue

Kukatpally: Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) founder-president Mandakrishna Madiga on Tuesday demanded settlement of the problems faced by the striking RTC employees, while extending support to the hunger strike by women and staff at local RTC depot which he inaugurated by offering them garlands.

Speaking at the fast camp, organised by RTC Employees' Joint Action Committee (JAC), he alleged that the RTC staff in Telangana was being suppressed. Without naming who, the MRPS chief alleged that attempts were being made to murder RTC employees and to keep them away from people and the Opposition parties.

He claimed that a Canada-type experiment on the RTC employees was being made. He criticised the police for lathi-charging women RTC staff, resulting in some receiving serious injuries during the recent million march on Tank Bund. He accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of 'ignoring' the High Court directives, while recalling that in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh the RTC was merged in the government.

Among the MRPS State leaders present were Srinivas, Ramchandar, Bhaskar, Venkat, Bachhala Kuraswasmy, RTC SC, ST Welfare Association general secretary Padma Rao, deputy secretary Babu Rao, Madiga Journalists'Forum district convener Y Yakayya, State leaders Dappu Ramaswamy, Prajanatya Mandali's Nissasr, RTC JAC convener Ashok, leaders Ilayya, Lakshmayya, Snehalata, M Rajkumar and Aruna Bhonsle.
