Light rains and showers likely from June 6 to 9

Hyderabad: The Met department has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places in Telangana from June 6 to 9. No large change during the period June 10-12 is the weather outlook. The department bulletin said on Wednesday that rain occurred at isolated places across the State covering 25 per cent of the area.

The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of south Arabian sea, most parts of the Maldives ¬Comorin area and some more parts of south-west Bay of Bengal. The onset of monsoon over Kerala is likely to be around June 8.

In a warning to Telangana, the bulletin said heat-wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in north Telangana from June 6 to 9. Public are advised not to expose directly to sunlight and take necessary precautions due to heat wave.

According to the bulletin, while Medak recorded day temperature of 39.1 degrees Celsius, Hakimpet and Dundigal had 37 and 36 deg C respectively. There was an appreciable fall in day temperatures ranging from 2.1 to 4 degrees Celsius in many parts of the State. The highest maximum temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Adilabad.
