Japan International Cooperation Agency delegation visits Rajeev Nagar

Rajeev Nagar: Representatives of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited Rajeev Nagar on Tuesday. A meeting was organised at Park III on the occasion.

Colony President Krishna Sharma explained to the representatives the steps being taken in the colony towards environment protection. "We are distributing cloth bags free of cost to reduce plastic use. Awareness programmes on segregation of dry and wet wastes are being conducted. There is rain harvesting pit in every apartment. With the help of GHMC, Saplings have been planted in the three parks," he informed.

JICA representative Nobuko Poojitha said the organisation was helping Telangana government to protect Husain Sagar from all kinds of pollutions. She expressed happiness over the social programmes in Rajeev Nagar. "If every colony draw inspiration from the Rajeev Nagar, it is for sure the Hussain Sagar can be protected," she added.

Deputy Commissioner Ramesh said the colony stands first in every step the state government is taking in the making of Swachh Hyderabad. Later, Poojitha and Ramesh launched second phase of distributing cloth bags.

The colony welfare association secretary Prasada Rao, other representatives Naseer, Bujanga Rao, Sagar, Badruddin, Shekar Reddy, Augistin, Ravindra, Patnaik, Lakshmoji Rao, Subba Raju, residents and GHMC staff were present.
