ITC division organises Haritha Haram

IDA Bollarum: ITC Limited-Paperboards & Specialty Papers Division organized Haritha Haaram, tree plantationprogram at IDA Bollaram Village. The company representatives said that the programme was organised to demonstrate its Commitment towards the enrichment of environmental resources.

Haritha Haram program was initiated by by the Telangana government to increase the green cover of the state from the existing 25.16% to 33% of its total geographical area.

To make the programme more participatory, ITC Managers, CII officials and employees of ITC, joined hands for the plantation drive and planted over 600 plants of different varieties in 3.5 acres of land.

Addressing the gathering Suneel Pandey, Vice President, said that ITC PSPD was taking part in the initiative which is the brainchild of Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao to plant at least 6 lakh plants annually, since 2016. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Singh Divisional Chief Executive said that the next focus would be to achieve zero emissions and zero discharge along with zero grid for unit Bollaram, Then this unit would be the first industrial unit in the country to achieve such feat.

Among other notable personalities were, Vadiraj Kulkarni, COO, K I Viswanathan, Divisional Head: Commercial and Marketing, Anil Kumar V Epur, Chairman Green Landscape Committee and past Chairman of CII-Southern Region, K S Venkatagiri, Executive Director CII-Godrej Green Business Center.
