Hygiene nowhere to be seen in Laad Bazaar
Charminar: The world-famous Laad Bazaar near Charminar wears a pitiable look these days. Roads have turned into garbage point due littering by people and hawkers. Distressed by the conditions in the area, which would put off visitors, shopkeepers are pleading with the GHMC to clear garbage daily.
According to the shopkeepers, the campaign of 'Saaf Hyderabad Shaandar Hyderabad' to keep city clean was not being implemented earnestly in the area. GHMC officials have not visited the sight even after complaints of lack of cleanliness and stench all around, they said. "Every day garbage heaps can be seen about the area.
The GHMC workers are not cleaning the road daily. We shopkeepers ourselves are cleaning the roads and throwing garbage in garbage bins," said Shaik Akber Ali, the owner of a readymade garment shop in Laad Bazar. He said that the road must be cleaned daily as it is a commercial place and many foreign visitors also visit the market.
