Hyderabad's theatre festival travels abroad
Theatre personality Mohammed Ali Baig takes the Hyderabad's theatre extravaganza, Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival to global centre-stage. Two of the foundation's muchacclaimed Indian heritage plays, 'Quli: Dilon ka Shahzaada' and 'Under an Oak Tree' will be staged in Dubai and London this summer.
'Quli: Dilon ka Shahzaada' is a timeless love legend of Indian poet-king Quli Qutub Shah and his beloved Bhagmati, whose love led to the founding of the city of Hyderabad in the 16th Century.
'Under an Oak Tree' is a contemporary bio-play, with a rich showcase of an aristocratic Asaf Jahi upbringing as a boy discovers himself in his father's craft of theatre.
'Quli: Dilon ka Shahzaada' and 'Under an Oak Tree' are written by wife-husband duo Noor Baig and Mohammad Ali Baig and are directed by the latter. The plays will be staged in Dubai and London between April 18th and 24th.
