Hyderabad: Women’s College refuses to allow burqa-clad women to write exams

Hyderabad : Tension prevailed after the management of Stanley Degree College for Women refused to allow burqa-clad girls to enter the exam hall on Thursday.

AIMIM MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig said that a few female students were supposed to write the exam at the college and the staff had asked them to remove their burqas and enter the exam hall. When the girls refused to remove the burqa the management didn’t allow them to write the exam.

On receiving information, that AIMIM MLC Rahmath Baig along with party workers reached the college and spoke to the management. On questioning, the management tried to justify their action alleging that the students were carrying material to indulge in malpractice.

Later, they admitted that it is voluntary for the students to wear burqa or remove it while entering the exam hall. The issue was later resolved at the institution by the management and the parents.
