Heritage Fest abegins today

Hyderabad: Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad chapter, is organizing a mega festival, titled 'Heritage Fest,' a competition of Indian heritage-based events for school students from LKG to Class X. The festival begins on July 1 in different parts of Hyderabad in 1,000 schools with the massive participation of 30,000 students. This is an open competition for students from any school and entry is free.

Heritage Fest is not only a convergence of cultural contest but also a cherished event which is aimed at bridging the cultural divide in this era of tech-frenzy, increasing juvenile delinquency and stressed lifestyle of kids. The range of events include colouring, painting, Gita sloka, chanting, puranic, costumes, classical dance, vocal, music, cookery, pushpalankara, rangoli, drama, folk dance and story-telling.

All the participants will be given a certificate. The winners of the contest will be given Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, mementos, trophies. Around 30,000 gertificates, medals and over 100 trophies will be given away during prize distribution.

An attractive 'Champion trophy' will be presented to the school with overall best performance and a runner-up trophy will be given to the runner-up school. Next top three schools will also be rewarded with mementos. A special memento will also be given to the school with a maximum number of entries in the Fest. All teachers who have trained the winning students will also be given Citation Certificates.
