Haj pilgrims told not to carry banned items
Nampally: Telangana State Haj Committee Chairman Mohammed Masiullah Khan asked the Haj pilgrims not to carry prohibited items on board on their way to Saudi Arabia on Air India flight.
These include power banks, cigarettes, tobacco products, khaskhash (poppy seeds) masala, blades, scissors, nail cutters and other intoxicated materials in their hand carry or luggage during the journey to Saudi Arabia. These items will be taken away while screening of baggage at airport and Haj House.
Executive Officer B Shafiullah advised Haj pilgrims not to bring solid gold beyond permissible limits as they might face trouble on arrival when frisked by custom officials. Also he advised pilgrims not to accept any kind of parcels while travelling back to India.
Assistant Executive Officer Irfan Shareef and members Abu Talha Amjad, Md Arifuddin officials of Air India and others were also present. Earlier the Committee held a detailed meeting with Air India Staff regarding departure arrangements of the Haj Pilgrims from Hyderabad Embarkation Point for Haj-2019.
