Grant ministerial berths to Madigas: Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi

Dharna Chowk: Telangana Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (TMRPS) founder president Ituka Raju has demanded the TRS government to allocate at least one ministerial berth to Madigas in the Telangana government. He was speaking at a protest organised by TMRPS at Dharna Chowk on Sunday.

Speaking during the protest, Ituka Raju said that Madigas constitute 12% of state population. He denounced the government for ignoring Madigas, who have one-crore population. Only those forward communities Velama and Reddy communities, with 1% and 5%, respectively, were given prominence in the ministerial allocations. Most of the promises made to Madigas, such as categorisation of SCs, three acres of land to each dalit family and two-bedroom houses, remained unfulfilled, he lamented.

Recalling the crucial role played by Madigas in the Telangana movement, he expressed his anguish at ignoring Madiga community by the state government in ministerial allocations. He warned that Madigas would teach TRS party a lesson if a ministerial berth was not allocated to Madigas.

President of TMRPS Sri Ramulu, state TMRPS president Gadda Yadaiah Madiga, president of national Madiga Mahila Force Jeeva Madiga, Parameshwar Madiga and others participated in the protest.
