Good response to skills training programme at Rajendranagar

Rajendranagar: A day-long skills training-cum-job mela organised by GHMC Rajendranagar circle office on its premises on Saturday received a good response. More than 400 aspirants applied for different skill development courses.

The programme was organised under Employment Skill and Training Programme (ESTP) to impart training to educated unemployed youth as well as disabled persons so that they get suitable placements in different premier companies.

According to officials, representatives of six out of nine companies like National Academy of Construction (NAC), Mind Map, Vision India, IPSS, Edubridge and Bhagyanagar Welfare Organization attended the programme. "The representatives received a total number of 417 applications seeking admission into skill development courses under various disciplines," informed S Anil Kumar, Project Officer, UCD Section, GHMC Rajendranagar.

Among the 417 aspirants, 253 are boys and 164 are girls, having residences in and around Rajendranagar circle under Charminar Zone. NAC received 68 applications for training and placement. Mindmap 82, Vision India 97, IPSS 55, Edubridge 42 and Bhagyanagar Welfare Organization 73 profiles in all.

"Right now, the company representatives are under process of verifying the applications after which a confirmation message would be sent to the selected applicants," said Venkateshwarlu, ADMC, GHMC.

The applicants would have to go through a training process under various disciplines for three to four months before getting a placement. They would get jobs with salary in the range of Rs 9,000 to Rs 20,000 per month according to their performance in the training programme," he added.
