Girl students exhorted to set goals

Koti: Secretary at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Education Institutions Society (TSWREIS) Praveen Kumar has exhorted the students of University College for Women (UCW) to have specific goals and to strive hard to achieve them with the help of mentors.

Kumar said that girls are mostly victimised by emotional blackmail. They are independent thinking creatures and can defy even their parents in order to achieve their goals, he said.

Kumar spoke on women empowerment and liberalisation at the University College for Women in connection with the 128th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr BR Ambedkar here on Wednesday.

Prof Gali Vinod Kumar, director, SC & ST Cell, Osmania University, donated a book 'Analysing and Fighting Caste System in India' to the college library during the event. Roja Rani, principal at UCW, was present on the occasion.
