GHMC set to step up land acquisitions

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is planning to step up the land acquisition drive for the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) projects. The Commissioner, Dana Kishore, has instructed officials to start works as per the records available in the RDP/LA/Revenue records.

A meeting took stock of the progress of land acquisition works including the total number of structures to be acquired, number of consents received, number of court cases, payment made for properties, etc., relating to Kothaguda flyover, Botanical Gardens, Seriligampally, Borabanda and Hi-Tec City works.

Land acquisition works are to be completed on Kamineni Hospital to Mansoorabad, Nagole Musi Bridge to Biramulguda, LB Nagar-Biramulguda to Chintalguda, LB Nagar to Siris Company, Uppal to Nalla Cheruvu, and from DRDL to Midhani, Chandrangutta to Madannapet etc.

The Commissioner enquired about the works held up for want of one or two properties and asked the officials to speed up acquisition work by putting in extra efforts. He also instructed the officials to take videos of all the properties indented to be acquired for the SRDP projects. Chief City Planner Devender Reddy, Director Sri Srinivas, Chief Engineer (Projects) Sreedhar and City Planners, Addl.City Planners attended the meeting.
