Essence of education lies in training mind
Hi-Tec City: "Unless we are spiritual, we will not be able to see the world as one, humanity as one unit. Training the mind is the essence of education," said Swami Chidrupananda of All India Chinmaya Yuva Kendra, North Zone, here on Thursday. He was speaking at the 7th national conference on teaching, learning and leadership organised by Brainfeed Group in association with ET TECH and TS Council of Higher Education.
Further, he said, "Spirituality is the only science that helps one in handling themselves. Sadly, no one teaches about life, on how to live qualitatively. Spirituality helps one cope with situations and with people. We are not touching hearts which is the need of the hour."
Dr Chukka Ramaiah, educationist and former MLC, said, "The purpose of schools is not to get a job but to serve humanity. Schools are not meant to give away certificates but to make students good human beings."
A book 'Launch Inspiring Educational leadership' by Ashok Pandey was launched. The brainfeed awards in different categories were given away. K V Brahmam, founder, Brainfeed Magazine, said, "It is our endeavour to get all stakeholders under one roof to deliberate and discuss on contentious issues in education and awards are given to egg them on to serve society better." Earlier, dance performances by students of Nachiketa Tapovan and Brahmam Talent School regaled the audience.
