Dakkali community deplores govt apathy

Bagh Lingampally: The first convention of Dakkali Empoyees Association was held here at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Monday. The secretary of Telangana Gurukul Society, RS Praveen Kumar, was invited as the chief guest for the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Praveen Kumar urged the members of Dakkali community to raise their social status through education. He urged the members of downtrodden communities which were treated as untouchables to raise their social standards through education. He wished students from Dakkali community to become doctors, engineers and billionaires in future. He assured members of the community to provide seats in Gurukul Schools if they are interested in educating their children.

Musheerabad MLA Muta Gopal assured the members of community to resolve their issues by taking them to the notice of CM KCR. He advised them to avail the reservation facility provided by Dr Ambedkar in the constitution to excel in various fields.

The president of the association, Bhavani Vivekananda Swamy, said the community was deprived of their opportunities due to lack of awareness, even as most of the SC reservation were utilised by Madiga and Mala communities. He demanded that the State government establish a separate corporation for the development of community and allocate an MLC seat under governor quota.

The general secretary of the association, Anthani Lingaiah, treasurer Anthani Suresh, vice president Shankar, Muthyalu, Bangari, Lingaraju, Karne Prabhakar, Yadaiah and others participated in the programme.
