Hyderabad: The Central Crime Station (CCS) cybercrime officials nabbed one P Vinod Kumar (alias Praveen, 25), a resident of Vishakapatnam on charges of allegedly posting objectionable photos of girls and women on social media. The accused learnt hardware and networking and is working in Vodafone store in Vizag. The accused had allegedly been stalking around 300 girls and women through Facebook and WhatsApp.

According to personnel, they received a complaint from one woman wherein she stated that she was approached by an unknown person who claimed to be a security engineer at CISCO and Dell companies.

He demanded her to pay Rs 10,000 per month for deleting all her pictures from all social media accounts including dating apps. Believing him, the victim paid Rs 40,000 for 4 months. But when she realised that his credentials were not genuine, she stopped paying him.

Soon after, her photographs were again uploaded on various dating apps and other porn sites along with her phone number. Immediately, she contacted Vinod and told him about the postings. The accused took some time and then told her that all photos were deleted but he asked her money to delete the photos from the internet.

As her phone number was uploaded on various dating apps and porn sites she was flooded with calls from different persons. Based on her complaint a case was registered under section 66 D IT Act-200 and 509 IPC. The accused is being forwarded to judicial remand.
