Crack down on tax evaders: GHMC chief

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Dana Kishore ordered GHMC officials to issue warrants to cell tower companies which did not pay their property taxes for the current financial year. He directed the officials during the review meeting on property taxes held at GHMC main office on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dana Kishore said that notices were already issued to the cell tower companies which did not pay their taxes before the due date and ordered the officials to issue warrants to the companies and take stringent measures if necessary. While the set target for the property tax collection is Rs 1500 crore, GHMC has collected Rs 1,215 crore by Friday evening, the Commissioner said.
