CM KCR flags off JBS-MGBS metro stretch

The metro line between Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station has been flagged off by the state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today from JBS Parade Grounds Metro station.

The 11 km stretch which is a part of the Greenline Corridor II has been added to the existing 58 km. The total 69.2-km line has become operational signalling the end of Phase 1 of the metro project.

JBS-MGBS stretch is a part of the JBS-Falaknuma line and has nine stations -- Parade Grounds, Secunderabad West, New Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, RTC crossroads, Chikkapally, Narayanaguda, Sultan Bazar, MGBS metro station.

The metro services are available to passengers from 6.30 am tomorrow.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao, DGP Mahender Reddy, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) managing director NVS Reddy were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Coming to the JBS parade grounds metro station that is located closer to the JBS bus station was constructed at 66 ft with five levels -- street, lower concourse, upper concourse, lower platform, and upper platform. While the MGBS interchange metro rail station is termed as one of the biggest metro rail stations in Asia which connects Miyapur-LB Nagar stretch of Corridor I and JBS-Falaknuma of Corridor II.
