Bhaglingampally: Girijans demand rise in reservation quota
Bhaglingampally: As part of Chalo Hyderabad programme, Girijana Sangham, Lambadi Hakkula Porata Samithi (LHPS) and Girijana Vidhyarthi Sangham (GVS) held a meeting at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Bagh Lingampally on Monday.
LHPS state president Das Ram Naik demanded that the government increase reservation for Girijans. Criticising BJP MP Soyam Babu Rao for his false propaganda against Lambadis, he demanded filling up of vacant posts in various government departments. He said Lambadi community will teach a lesson to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and BJP.
Later, they set out to lay siege to Pragathi Bhavan. But police arrested them and sent to various police stations. GVS founder President Daravath Ganesh Naik, state level leader Venkat Banjara and others were present.
