Asad, A K Khan inspect works at Mecca Masjid
Charminar: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, along with Advisor to State government (Minority Welfare) A K Khan, Minority Welfare Department Director Shahnawaz Qasim, Superintendent of Masjid Qadeer Siddiqui and other officials, took stock of the ongoing repair and beautification works of historic Mecca Masjid near Charminar on Wednesday.
Later briefing media persons, A K Khan said that the visit was part of the review of the ongoing works restoration and beautification at the Mecca Masjid. "We examined the installation of acoustics, which includes sound system and electrical works and want to ensure that they synchronizes with the ongoing works," he said.
Khan further informed that the MP also provided some important suggestions about the repair and beautification works during his visit and discussed about the remaining works and evaluated as to how much works completed and how the remains works can be completed. "We hope that the works will speed up from now on," he added.
According to him, the pending works would be completed by next 6 to 8 months. "The works inside the main structure are going on and the works related to main gate would be completed in next 2-months. While the other works like the mosque and madarsa (inside the premises) would pick up pace," he added.
Responding to questions about quality, he expressed satisfaction of work and material. However, he said that he was open for third party (experts from outside) to examine the quality of works. He informed that if there was need of additional funds, a proposal would be forwarded to the government in the coming days.
