Anomalies alleged in police recruitment
Saifabad: BC leaders, led by R Krishnaiah, met Home Minister Mahmood Ali here on Friday and discussed on the alleged irregularities in the selection of police constable posts.
BC leaders told the minister that several candidates who got more than the cut-off marks were not selected and that they suspect irregularities in the selection process. They requested the minister to conduct investigation into the matter.
They also demanded to provide reservation-wise and category-wise lists of selected candidates. BC leaders told the minister that while the notification was issued for 16,925 posts, the selected list had names of some 16,025 candidates.
They wondered why the details of remaining 900 posts were kept secret. Responding to their apprehensions, the home minister said that he would investigate into the matter and would give posting to those who were denied opportunity.
The minister asked them to provide the list of candidates who scored more than cut-off marks, but were not selected. The minister said that he would take necessary measures after consulting the officials concerned. Among those who met the minister include BC Welfare Association vice president Gujja Krishna, Neela Venkatesh, Nanda Gopal, Bhoopesh, Sagar and others.
