All India Nursery Mela kicks off on I-Day in city

Hyderabad: A five-day 7th All India Horticulture, Agriculture and Grand Nursery Mela will be held at People's Plaza at Necklace Road in the city, from August 15, Khalid Ahamed, the organiser, informed in a press note here on Monday.

The mela will showcase different gardening methods, various plant collections from all over the country; Trends in terrace garden, vertical garden and latest technologies and innovations in the agriculture and the horticulture sectors. It will have 80 stalls comprising nurseries from Bangalore, Pune, Kalingpong, Kolkota, Mumbai, Chennai, Kadiam (AP) and also from the twin cities.

As people in the city are increasingly converting their own little space/s in the house/ apartment into beautiful gardens, the show will be relevant and useful to them and home garden lovers, Khalid Ahmed added.

The objectives of the mela are to create marketing avenues for nurseries, popularise different species of plant material, bring farmers and suppliers together, provide a platform for those who are looking to set up a home garden, terrace garden, vertical garden, kitchen garden.

Also, it is expected to spur interest in ornamental gardening and spread knowledge about garden accessories, material and irrigation systems. The other attractions of the show include flower plants, indoor, outdoor, cactus, succulent, medicinal plants, Bonsai and various bulbs and seeds. Organic food material, confectionary food stalls will be among other attractions.
