109th birth anniversary of Sri Sri celebrated

Kukatpally: Mahanubhavula Jayanthi Utsavala Committee organized the 109th birth anniversary celebrations of the noted Telugu poet and movie songs writer Srirangam Srinivas Rao or Sri Sri at Katta Vari Seva Kendram, located before Ramya playgrounds in KPHB on Tuesday.

Former Deputy Registrar of Dr Ambedkar University Yamparala Sambashiva Rao attended the program as the chief guest. As part of the celebrations, the chief guest garlanded the portrait of the poet and paid floral tributes.

Speaking on the occasion, Sambashiva Rao said Sri Sri started his writing at the age of seven and has become a noted revolutionary poet and Telugu movie songs writer. Lauding his poetic skills and revolutionary nature of his writings, Sambashiva Rao said that most of the movie songs written by the poet have become immortal and remained in the hearts of Telugu people.

The songs, especially written for the Telugu movie Alluri Seetaramaraju, such as 'Telugu Veera Levara' and 'Padavoi Bharateeyuda,' have inspired many of his generation, he said.
