10-cr buffalo all set for Sadar fete
Khairatabad: Yadav community organises Sadar celebrations, a buffalo carnival, with pomp and gaiety on the second day after Diwali festival every year. Buffaloes are decorated and paraded through the streets amidst 'teen maar' music. Yadavs spend crore of rupees on buffaloes to be displayed during the carnival.
Madhu Yadav, the owner of Dhootwale Milk Dairy, has passion for buffalo. He bought a 3-month-old buffalo for Rs 25 lakh from Haryana two years ago and named it fondly as 'Rana.' Today, two years after, Rana is 6-ft tall and 14-ft long. Rana is all set to be displayed at this year's carnival to be held at YMCA in Narayanguda on Tuesday. Speaking to THI, Madhu Yadav said that the current value of Rana is Rs 10 crore, as it earns around.
The buffalo has been under good care by two specially appointed men. Rana is taken for 5-km walk every day. Caretakers massage it and wash it thoroughly twice a day. It is fed 40 liters of milk, 5 kg apples, 1 kg of dry fruits every day. Rana is being made ready for the carnival at the temple near Ganesh idol-point in Khairatabad.
