Let's pledge to save future on World Soil Day!
World Soil Day, yes, we are in a situation today to observe a day on which we all can pledge to save soil, the soul of our life. How?
Well, first of all, on every December 5th, let's say that we will find out the areas where soil erosion is happening at rapid rates and try to find steps that will help us stop this eradication.
Why? It is important for our future - immediate and distant, that we save topsoil on our planet earth from natural disasters and also from man-made catastrophes. If fertile sediments of topsoil are lost, we will not be able to produce food grains and even groundwater levels will decrease drastically, as this topsoil allows water seepage by acting as a natural filter.
Also, if there is no fertile soil, forests will be eradicated which will reduce oxygen percentage drastically and further it will affect precipitation levels too. With so much at stake, we need to pledge that we will work towards growing more plants and trees that will stop soil erosion and help us safeguard our future.
