6 Modern styles of Saree Draping - This wedding season ditch the conventional style and try these
Trying to pick up the right saree to wear at different party or wedding occasions, isn't much sorted for women, they never find it easier to pick the right saree to drape for occasions like, weddings, parties or the casually, etc.
The wedding season has kicked off and so has the mad rush to get the best outfits. From lehengas and palazzos to anarkalis and sarees, women are scouring every store to get that perfect and unique look. But we all know how tedious and taxing the process can be.
So instead of racking your brains and wasting time in tiny allies of the local bazaar, we suggest you try something different this time. Like make a new outfit from your saree? Sounds interesting? With one saree, you can achieve 10 different looks and styles! It's going to be nothing like you've tried and it's definitely going to be flattering.
1) Belt Style
Drape your saree the normal way and just add a belt that cinches your pallu at the waist. You can even use a kamarbhandh if you want to go for a more traditional look. A statement blouse like an off-shoulder would definitely add some zing to your outfit.
2) Dhoti Style
Try out this offbeat look the next time you have to attend a wedding. All you have to do is wear a legging instead of a petticoat for better draping purposes. The style is a bit tricky but don't you worry, we have you covered!
3) Neck Drape Style
All you got to do is wrap the pallu around your neck like a scarf. You'll have to keep the length of your pallu longer to achieve this style. You can even experiment with as many scarf styles as you like.
4) The Saree Gown
The ultimate way to ooze sensuality and grace in equal proportions is by draping your saree to give it a pseudo gown look. Getting a blouse made which gives the look of a corset helps to create the illusion of a saree gown.
How to wear?
Carry the pallu pleats in a good pile and pin on the left shoulder.
The saree front drape should go across the shoulder. Keep pleats in 5-6 inches in basic look, or smaller pleats 3 inches in narrow look, or also 8-9 inches to cover the bodice comfortably.
When it comes to pallu part, pleat it thinly. Pin the thin pallu to the left shoulder so that the navel or midriff is visible
5) The Double Pallu
Wearing a single pallu with your saree is just way too old-school. Wear two to double the fun. While getting your saree made you can either customize it so that it has two pallus, or you could try draping a matching dupatta to create the look.
6) The scarf style
Wrap your pallu around the neck to give it the look of a makeshift scarf or just drape it around loosely in a cowl for a stress-free and modern look.
Whatever be the style of draping that you choose, let the inner fashionista in you take charge and steer clear from the regular over-the-shoulder draping.
