Animal husbandry department rushed and collected the samples after the orders passed by the minister. Deputy commissioner of the district K Rakesh Kumar was also asked to investigate on the issue.

The collected samples were sent to Institute of Animal Health and Veterinary Biologicals and Animal Diseases Laboratory in Bhopal and there are no signs of Covid-19 virus in the goats and sheep. Officials concluded that they are suffering PPR(Peste des petits ruminants) also known as goat plague and mycoplasma infection.

The animals are kept in isolation as PPR and mycoplasma are also communicable disases and can spread to other animals.
