Hyderabad: Sports Day held at Sister Nivedita School
Hyderabad: The students of the primary wing of Sister Nivedita School turned out to be young athletes and their ground, a sports arena when they celebrated their Annual Sports Meet on Wednesday.
The day began with the torch being lit by the youngest Guest of Honour Keerthi Ram, a Rower & a national championship awardee and Khyathi Ram, the youngest record holder of National Kayaking and Canoeing championship. The torch was passed on to the various athletes who ran around the ground showing their spirit of sportsmanship and team spirit. This was followed by various track events in which students enthusiastically participated.
Children performed karate to show the self-defensive techniques and asanas for a healthy living. The highlight of the day was the 'Butterfly Drill' that made the entire ground colourful and spectacular bringing in a close connection with nature. Nadeemuddin, a former national hockey player graced the occasion. The winners in the various events were presented medals and certificates by the dignitaries who graced the occasion and also by the Correspondent and Director of the school, Hari Hara Prasad. Speaking to the young athletes, 'the Niveditans' the Principal Jayanthi Venkataraman remarked that 'Cans are possible in cans and not in cannots' for becoming worthy citizens.
