Hyderabad: NSS camp inaugurated at GITAM
Hyderabad: The seven-day special NSS camp (from February 12-18) was inaugurated by Prof. M. Rama Krishna, Regional Director, NSS (Telangana & AP states) at GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad on Wednesday.
While inaugurating the camp as a chief guest, he shared his thoughts with the NSS volunteers and gave them a lesson to learn more from the community members around them. He made it clear that practical knowledge is different from the theoretical knowledge. He exhorted a mantra of LOCU, L for leadership quality, O for observation, C for communication and U for understanding. The Regional Director sincerely advised the students that they have to prove themselves as worthy NSS volunteers. NSS GITAM Hyderabad website was launched by the chief guest.
Prof. N.Siva Prasad, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GITAM Hyderabad chaired the inaugural session and advised the volunteers that they have to learn the service and discipline out of this seven-day camp. He also shared that society is growing very fast with their exposure to modern technology, but one has to patient and humble, too.
NSS Programme co-ordinator Dr. P.V.Nagendra Kumar welcomed the guests and read the annual report of activities. He thanked the programme officers and volunteers for their active participation in the activities conducted throughout the year.
Prof. A.Sreeram, Director, Students Affairs, NSS Program officers Soujanya, Sahoo, Balasiddulu, Venkat Narayana and about 100 NSS volunteers were participated in the inauguration.
