Hyderabad: Lecture session on world pharma industry at GITAM

Hyderabad: GITAM School of Pharmacy organised a guest lecture session in the institute premises on Monday. The guest speaker was Dr. Nagashekhara Molugulu, Industry Liaison in Charge, School of Pharmacy, Monash University, Malaysia. The topic of the lecture was "Recent Updates in the World Pharmaceutical Industry".

In the lecture, Dr. Nagashekhara gave a descriptive presentation on the current scenario of pharmaceutical industries at the global level. He explained the process of developing a new drug and launching it in the market. He also explained about the importance of having liaisons between pharmaceutical industries and academic institutes for a better understanding of the core concepts of pharmaceutical sciences. The students asked various queries related to the topic to the guest speaker.

Earlier, Dr. G.Shiv Kumar, Principal, School of Pharmacy, in his welcome address, introduced the guest speaker. Resident director, GITAM Hyderabad, Shri DVVSR Varma felicitated the guest speaker. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. D. Bhaskar of School of Pharmacy.
