Hyderabad: Green India Challenge held in Nacharam Delhi Public School

Hyderabad: Delhi Public School, Nacharam organised a mass plantation drive on the campus on the eve of Green India Challenge. The chief guest were Subhas Bethi Reddy, MLA Uppal, P Devendar Reddy, Mallapur Corporator, M Komariah Chairman DPS, A Venkateshwar Reddy SATS Chairman, S Raghavender Co-founder Green India Challenge and Sunitha Rao Principal.

The event started on a solemn note with a prayer followed by the welcome address by the Principal SunithaRao.

The Chairman of the school, M Komaraiaha Green energy producer, spoke about the green campus and urged students to continue to protect and preserve the green cover by continuing the plantation drive in their communities. With 'Hara Hai Tho Bhara Hai' as the slogan, the students were administered the Green India Challenge pledge by the Chief Guest. Students of classes 3 to 8 participated in the mass plantation drive. Each student picked up a plant and took the Green Drive pledge in a special assembly.

Subhas Bethisaid by increasing the green cover, the State must be developed as the most eco- friendly State in the country. Venkateshwara Reddy appreciated the efforts of Santosh MP, for starting the Green India Challenge and wanted the same to be extended to the village schools.

Raghavendra said that the 'Green India Challenge' completed its target of plantation of three crore saplings. He urged students who planted the saplings to take up the responsibility of protecting them too. He also further increased the target which is now set for planting 10 crore saplings.
