Visakhapatnam: GITAM receives Aicte award

Visakhapatnam: GITAM Deemed to be University Institute of Technology received Best Internship Record creation Institute award by All India Council for Technical Education for the current academic year. GITAM Institute of Technology is the only institute selected from Andhra Pradesh for this award for showing exemplary efforts in improving the internship-placement scenario which has set an example for colleges all across the state. GITAM has secured an all India ranking of 17 and Zone ranking of 6 amongst 2830 colleges which participated in the Internship Day initiative.

AICTE in its efforts to make Internship mandatory in Engineering Institutions has signed MoU with Internshala towards provision of quality Internships to Engineering students. This year, AICTE & Internshala had together organised Internship Day at AICTE Headquarters in New Delhi to recognise Engineering colleges for their pioneering efforts in encouraging students to undergo quality internships during the graduation program.ITAM Training & Placements Director Cdr Gurumoorthy Gangadharan was felicitated by AICTE Chairman Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe during the award ceremony held recently at New Delhi in the presence of AICTE Vice Chairman Dr.MPPoonia, Deputy Director Dr.Neetu Bhagat, Internshala Founder Sarvesh Agarwal and 400+training and placement officers. GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof.K.Sivaramakrishna, Registrar Prof.KVGD Balaji appreciated the university Training & Placements wing for their efforts to improve the placements and internships.
