Hyderabad: Pegasystems Inc. , the software company empowering customer engagement at the world's leading enterprises, on Wednesday announced results from a hackathon conducted under the firm's University Academic Program in its Hyderabad and Bengaluru offices, to meet the firm's growing demand for certified developers. A fifth of over 100 students who took part at the hiring event were offered 'Letters of Intent' after a thorough evaluation process.

With approximately 60 per cent of students being female graduates, the firm's diversity push to enable women in technology was brought to the fore. Hackathons have become the norm today to accelerate the hiring process and identify qualified candidates. Pegasystems is laying emphasis on using this model to make the interview experience exciting for their certified graduates.

It has also allowed the company to raise the bar of hiring through a detailed technical and analytical evaluation of engineering talent. These students who participated in the hackathon were from KL University, Hyderabad; Vasavi Engineering College, Hyderabad; Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET), Greater Noida and Raghu Engineering College, Visakhapatnam.
